Schedule

Day 1 – Saturday, 27th June

Arrival in Marseille • Meet & Greet • Welcome Dinner

Welcome to the South of France! Upon your arrival at Marseille Airport or the main train station, our friendly guides will be there to meet you and transfer you to our hotel. With a refreshing pool and on-site restaurant, it’s the perfect place to relax and settle in.

In the late afternoon, we’ll come together for a relaxed Welcome Reception. Bring your camera, we’ll go over essential settings and share a few tips to get you ready for the unique locations and lighting conditions you’ll encounter throughout the trip. It’s also a moment to reflect on your personal goals for this workshop: What would you love to capture? What story do you want your photos to tell?

As the sun sets, we’ll sit down for a delicious group dinner, a chance to connect with your fellow photographers, chat with your guides, and soak in the excitement of what’s to come. The journey is just beginning!

Photo Focus: Gear readiness, mindset setting, and connection.

Day 2 – Sunday, 28th June

Into Provence • Lavender Fields • Sunset Shoot

After your first night in the South of France, we’ll start with a hearty hotel breakfast before setting out into the heart of Provence. As we drive through rolling countryside, endless lavender and sunflower fields will unfold, with stops to admire and photograph the scenery. By midday, we’ll arrive in Valensole for a delicious local lunch.

In the afternoon, we’ll explore one of the largest lavender fields in the region, your first chance to capture the bold colors, soft curves, and aromas of Provence. Later, we’ll check into our countryside hotel, relax by the pool, and enjoy a French-style dinner featuring regional specialties.

As golden hour approaches, we’ll head back to a favorite lavender field for a magical sunset shoot, ending the day with the fields glowing in purple light.

Photo Focus: Field compositions, color contrast, golden hour light, and first creative captures in lavender country.

Day 3 – Monday, 29th June

Secret Sunrise • Editing & Model Shoot • Lavender Sunset Dinner

We start the day early at a magical sunrise location, where lavender fields glow in waves of purple and gold against the distant Alps, offering an unforgettable way to photograph Provence.

Afterward, we return to the hotel for rest and a relaxed Provençal breakfast, with free time to enjoy the pool, lounge, or explore Valensole village nearby.

In the early afternoon, we meet for a late lunch and a photo editing session to review sunrise shots and prepare for our model shoot. A short briefing covers tips for natural light and posing.

In the afternoon, we head into the lavender fields for our first model shoot. As golden hour softens the light, you’ll capture stunning portraits framed by vibrant colors. We’ll enjoy a picnic-style dinner in the fields, and as sunset approaches, the landscape offers more chances for poetic, memorable images.

Photo Focus: Sunrise landscapes, storytelling portraits, model posing, natural light, and golden hour magic.

Day 4 – Tuesday, 30th June

Exploring Gordes, Abbaye de Sénanque & Roussillon

Today, no early alarms! Enjoy the morning at your own pace: sip coffee with your camera, review your shots, swim in the pool, or stroll the hotel gardens.

After breakfast, we set out on a scenic drive through the Provençal countryside, passing sunflower fields, wheat plains, lavender rows, and olive groves. Our first stop is the hilltop village of Gordes, where we explore stone streets, viewpoints, and enjoy a local lunch.

Next, we visit the Abbaye de Sénanque, a serene monastery surrounded by lavender. Wander the grounds, visit the gift shop, or try their famous monk-made lavender ice cream while waiting for the soft afternoon light.

We finish the day in Roussillon, photographing its red and orange ochre cliffs and pastel houses as evening light enhances the colors. Then it’s back to the hotel for a well-earned rest.

Photo Focus: Architectural storytelling, color theory in landscapes, mid-day and golden-hour compositions.

Day 5 – Wednesday, 1st July

Provence to Camargue • Medieval Aigues-Mortes • White Horses

After a final breakfast in Valensole, we set off for one of the workshop’s highlights: photographing the majestic white horses of Camargue. Our journey takes us through changing landscapes to Aigues-Mortes, a medieval town where we’ll enjoy lunch and explore its historic streets.

In the afternoon, we check in to our hotel and have a brief session on horse photography, covering camera settings, composition, and safety tips. Then we head to a secret beach, where the white horses await. Starting in shallow waters, we capture reflections and soft light before moving to open sands as they gallop through the surf, a thrilling test of timing and skill.

Our team will guide you throughout, ensuring you leave with unforgettable images and memories.

Photo Focus: Action and motion photography, reflections, dynamic compositions, storytelling with animals.

Day 6 – Thursday, 2nd July

Black Bulls at Sunrise • Flamingos • Wild Horses Reimagined

Today begins with a once-in-a-lifetime adventure in the Camargue marshes, photographing the legendary black Camargue bulls as they move through the mist, guided by traditional guardians on horseback. Capture multiple angles as the sun rises over the wetlands, creating a scene of wild beauty.

Afterward, enjoy coffee with the guardians and photograph their majestic horses before returning to the hotel for breakfast and a morning to relax.

In the afternoon, we visit Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer to explore its historic streets and the Black Madonna, followed by lunch. Next, the Camargue Ornithological Park offers up-close shots of elegant flamingos.

As golden hour arrives, we return to the secret beach for a second wild horse shoot, capturing motion, light, and the magic of these magnificent animals.

Photo Focus: Action wildlife, dramatic sunrise scenes, environmental portraits, and creative motion capture.

Day 7 – Friday, 3rd July

Farewell Morning • Departure to Marseille

All great adventures must come to an end, but not without one last peaceful morning in the Camargue. After an unforgettable week of creativity, connection, and photography, we’ll gather for one final breakfast at the hotel. If time allows, enjoy a quick swim, a stroll through the grounds, or perhaps a quiet moment with the horses grazing nearby, a final breath of the beauty that has surrounded us all week.

Once everyone is ready, we’ll begin our return journey to Marseille, with drop-offs at the airport and train station. It’s never easy to say goodbye, but we part ways with memory cards full of stunning images, new friendships, and a heart full of inspiration.

Until next time. Merci et Ă  bientĂ´t!

Photo Focus: Saying goodbye... but not before a few final frames.
