Experience the culture, history and beauty of Belgium during this intimate 5-day photography workshop, limited to just six photographers. From the medieval canals of Bruges and historic waterfront of Ghent to Brussels and the magical bluebell forests of Hallerbos, every day brings something completely different to photograph.

The workshop combines landscape, architecture, street photography, traditional craftsmanship and Belgian culture. You will photograph Bruges before the city wakes, capture historic Ghent in beautiful morning light, discover traditional lace making, experience Belgian chocolate and brewing, and photograph one of Belgium's most beautiful spring landscapes.

Alongside the photography, we want you to truly experience Belgium. Taste its food, discover its traditions, meet local craftspeople and enjoy the atmosphere of some of Europe's most beautiful historic cities.

With three professional photography guides, private transportation and a group limited to only six photographers, this is designed to be a slower, more personal and immersive photography experience, with plenty of individual guidance and time to enjoy every location.

Schedule

Day 1 – Wednesday, 28th July

Seville Arrival • Meet & Greet • Welcome Dinner

Welcome to Andalusia! From 12pm, our friendly guides will meet you at Seville Airport and transfer you to the hotel, where you will have plenty of time to check in, unpack, relax, and settle in.

In the evening, we will come together for a relaxed welcome dinner. It is the perfect chance to meet your fellow photographers, get to know your guides and look ahead to the extraordinary experiences waiting for us over the coming days.

Today is designed as a gentle arrival day, allowing everyone to travel comfortably, settle in, and ease into the workshop's rhythm before the photographic journey begins.

Day 2 – Thursday, 29th July

Plaza de España • Flamenco • Traditional Pastries • Seville Photo Walk

Our first photography day begins at Plaza de España, where we photograph its grand architecture, sweeping curves, colourful tiles and reflections in the soft morning light.

After breakfast and some time to relax at the hotel, we return to Seville for one of the highlights of the workshop: a flamenco photography experience. This gives us the chance to capture the movement, emotion and character of this famous Andalusian tradition.

Later, we enjoy coffee and traditional pastries before heading out for an evening photowalk through historic Seville. We explore the Cathedral, Giralda, Santa Cruz, Torre del Oro and the Guadalquivir as the city changes through golden hour and into the evening.

Day 3 – Friday, 30th July

Horse Photography • Jerez • Historic Bodega • Sherry Tasting

Today we discover two traditions deeply connected with Jerez: Andalusian horses and sherry.

We begin with a special Andalusian horse photography experience, with opportunities to capture elegant portraits, traditional riders, beautiful details and horses in motion.

Afterwards, we enjoy a relaxed lunch featuring local Jerez cuisine before spending some time exploring the historic centre, including the Cathedral and Alcázar.

In the afternoon, we visit one of Jerez’s traditional sherry bodegas, photographing atmospheric cellars, rows of barrels and the craftsmanship behind this famous local tradition. We finish with a guided sherry tasting.

Before returning to Seville, there is time for coffee and a taste of tocino de cielo, one of the region’s traditional sweet treats.

Day 4 – Saturday, 31st July

Ronda • Puente Nuevo • Spanish Guitar • Sunset & Blue Hour

There is no early start today, giving you time to relax at the hotel or book an optional one-to-one portfolio review with one of your guides.

Later in the morning, we travel into the mountains for a relaxed Andalusian lunch in Grazalema, accompanied by traditional Spanish guitar.

From there, we continue to Ronda, where we explore its historic streets, balconies, squares and viewpoints before focusing on the dramatic Tajo Gorge and Puente Nuevo.

We finish the day with our main landscape session, photographing Ronda through golden hour, sunset and blue hour, followed by a relaxed tapas dinner before returning to Seville.

Day 5 – Sunday, 1st August

Historic Olive Estate • Olive Oil Tasting • Eclipse Masterclass

The day before the eclipse is deliberately relaxed.

After breakfast, we visit a historic Andalusian olive estate, where we discover centuries of local olive oil tradition through its courtyards, gardens, old mill and a guided tasting.

After lunch at the hotel, all attention turns to the eclipse. During our Total Eclipse Photography Masterclass, we go through every part of the shooting process using the equipment you will use the following day.

Camera setup. Filters. Exposure. Bracketing. Focusing. Totality. Safety. Backup plans.

Then we rehearse the full process, so by the end of the session your equipment is prepared, and you know exactly what to expect.

In the evening, we enjoy an early dinner in a beautiful Sevillian courtyard setting before returning to the hotel for a restful night ahead of the big day.

Day 6 - Monday, 2nd August

Total Solar Eclipse • Celebration Dinner

This is the day we came for.

We leave Seville early and travel south towards our chosen eclipse location. To give us the best possible chance of clear skies, we will have several carefully researched locations available, with the final decision based on the latest weather and cloud conditions.

At our dedicated eclipse base camp, there will be plenty of time and space to set up, check your equipment and prepare calmly with guidance from the Three Nomads team.

As the eclipse begins, we photograph the changing phases before experiencing the extraordinary moment of totality, when the Moon completely covers the Sun and the landscape falls into shadow.

Afterwards, we continue photographing the remaining phases before celebrating together and enjoying lunch at our eclipse base.

Later that evening, we come together again for a special Total Eclipse Celebration Dinner, sharing our photographs, stories and memories from an experience we will never forget.

Day 7 - Tuesday, 3rd August

Casa de Pilatos • Eclipse Processing Masterclass • Farewell Dinner

Nobody needs an alarm today.

After a relaxed breakfast, we enjoy one final cultural visit in Seville at beautiful Casa de Pilatos, with its courtyards, tilework, gardens and Andalusian architecture.

After lunch, we turn our attention back to the eclipse. During our main processing masterclass, we work through image selection, corona detail, diamond ring photographs, partial phases and the creation of a finished eclipse image.

Then comes one of our favourite moments of the week. Everyone chooses one finished photograph and we reveal the results together.

That evening, we dress up for a special farewell dinner in a beautiful riverside setting, with views across the Guadalquivir and the lights of Seville. It is the perfect way to celebrate the week, share our favourite moments and enjoy one final evening together.

Day 8 - Wednesday, 4th August

Breakfast • Farewell • Departure

Enjoy one last relaxed breakfast together before packing up and saying goodbye to Seville.

Private transfers will take you from the hotel to Seville Airport according to the main departure times, giving everyone an easy and comfortable end to the journey.

It is a final chance to look back on eight unforgettable days of Andalusian culture, photography, new friendships and the extraordinary experience of photographing a total solar eclipse.

Until next time. ¡Hasta pronto!

What Gear Should I Bring to My Belgium Uncovered Workshop?

Belgium Uncovered offers a wonderful variety of photography, so we recommend keeping your kit versatile and comfortable. A 24 to 70mm standard zoom is ideal for historic streets, architecture, cultural photography and everyday scenes, while a 70 to 200mm or similar telephoto lens will be particularly useful for woodland photography, details and creating layered compositions at Hallerbos.

A wide-angle lens can also be useful for Bruges, Ghent, Brussels and architectural interiors. We recommend bringing a lightweight tripod for sunrise, sunset and blue hour photography, along with extra batteries, plenty of memory cards and comfortable walking shoes.

With medieval cities, traditional crafts, Belgian culture, beautiful architecture and spring woodland all packed into four days, you'll have opportunities to use almost every lens in your bag.
