What is the Structure Tool
The Structure tool in Aperty is designed to precisely enhance the texture and clarity of your portrait photos. Unlike traditional sharpening tools that can affect the entire image, the Structure tool selectively boosts the clarity and contrast in specific areas, focusing on the parts that need it the most while keeping softer areas, like skin, smooth and natural. This selective approach allows for enhanced mid-tone details, making facial features and other textures stand out without introducing unwanted noise.
Introducing Structure controllers
Amount Slider
The "Structure" slider controls the intensity of detail enhancement. By default, this slider is set to 0. Sliding it towards the right adds structure to the photo, creating a more defined and detailed look. Sliding the slider towards the left adds a glow while removing the structure and details from the image.
Boost Slider
Increases the effect's strength, making the textures more defined without affecting soft areas.
Getting Started with the Structure Tool
- Select your project in the Project Manager and double-click to open it in the Editing module.
- Choose the image you want to edit from the Film Strip at the bottom of the application.
- Navigate to the Main Editing Toolbar and click the icon with three sliders to access the Essentials section.
- Open the Structure tool by clicking its name or the triangle next to it.
- Adjust the Amount slider to control the level of structure and detail in the image.
- For added texture and clarity, increase the effect using the Boost slider.
- Optionally, use the Masking tool to apply the effect selectively to specific parts of the image.
- At any point, click the Eye icon to compare the before and after results.
