How to install Supersharp AI

Once you purchase or acquire the Supersharp AI extension at the Skylum website you will have to install it into your application from the "Extensions" panel following the steps bellow.

TIP 👍: To install the extension into your software, it is necessary to have an active internet connection. It is also essential to ensure you are running the latest version of Luminar NEO before installing the extension into your application.

Open Luminar NEO and log in with the same profile you used for obtaining the extension.
Click on the "Extras" orange button in the top right corner of the application.
Once the new window opens, select the "Extensions" tab at the top.
Locate the Supersharp AI extension in the available list and click the "Install" button on it to add it to the application.
Access the extensions in the "Extensions" tab of the main toolbar in the Edit module.

Introducing Supersharp AI Controllers

Universal Correction

A general sharpening technique is used to enhance the clarity and sharpness of an entire image. Its objective is to recover any lost details and eliminate any softness caused by camera shake or other factors.

Motion Blur Correction

This is a specialized technique that can be used to sharpen blurred images caused by camera movement during exposure. This technique employs advanced algorithms to analyze the direction and intensity of the blur and applies a correction to restore the image's original sharpness. It is especially helpful for photos taken while in motion, such as while walking or driving, or for capturing fast-moving subjects like athletes or wildlife.

Low, Middle, and High

This setting determines the sharpening strength applied to the image.

Face Enhancer AI

By clicking on this feature, you can enhance faces and make them appear clearer and sharper in blurry photos.

Getting started with Supersharp AI

The Supersharp AI extension works seamlessly with all versions of Luminar NEO. You can find the extension in the main editing panel of the "Edit" module and use it at any point during photo editing. However, for optimal results, it is recommended to apply the extension during the initial development stage alongside noise reduction, either before or after using the Develop/Develop RAW tool.

To enhance your image, start by using the Develop or Develop RAW tool in the Edit module.
If necessary, you can use Noiseless AI or Noiseless RAW to remove any noise.
Next, open the Supersharp AI extension and select the Sharpening technique.
Zoom in to at least 100% (Cmd/Ctrl + 1) and choose the appropriate sharpening strength based on the amount of blur.
After applying the sharpening, review the result and make any necessary adjustments.
For portrait editing, consider using the "Face Enhancer AI" to further improve the image.
Finally, utilize other editing tools in the application to continue refining the image.
