What is the Landscape Tool
The sliders in the Landscape tool are designed specifically to enhance landscape photographs. However, they can also help with real estate, travel, and nature photographs.
Introducing the Landscape Tool sliders
Standard Settings
Dehaze
This slider applies the perfect blend of contrast, clarity, and color adjustments to eliminate the effects of fog and haze often found in cityscapes, landscapes, and aerial photos. It’s especially helpful when editing photos shot through glass or photos with a lot of mist or fog in the scene.
Golden Hour
Use this slider to bring warmth, softness, and a golden glow to all of your photos. Simply dial in the amount of warm toning to introduce more overall color vibrancy. Quickly emulate the magic that happens just after sunrise and just before sunset.
Foliage Enhancer
This slider automatically enhances the colors of foliage and greenery, making them more vivid and natural. It’s a good choice for nature and lush landscape images.
Advanced Settings
Foliage Hue
This slider modifies the hue of the foliage affected by Foliage Enhancer. It’s useful for achieving the right amount of green.
Getting started with the Landscape Tool
The Landscape Tool is very easy to use. With only three sliders, you simply adjust each one while keeping an eye on the image to achieve the look you are looking for. Where the Dehaze and Golden Hour sliders offer subtle changes, the Foliage Enhancer can be pretty intense, and it needs to be used with caution for a natural result. The Foliage Enhancer slider comes with additional advanced setting sliders (Foliage Hue), which can be used to bring more natural colours into the green areas of the image.
Landscape Tool:
- Open the image in Luminar NEO using the Add Photos button (Cmd/Ctrl + O) in the Catalog module (L).
- Move to the Edit module (E).
- Depending on the image, apply a basic development with the tools available in the Essentials section (Develop, Enhance AI, Color).
- Open the Landscape tool in the Essential Tools section of the main toolbar.
- Depending on the image, start with the Golden Hour slider, then move to Foliage Enhancer and finish with the Dehaze slider.
- You can also use the tool in combination with Masking and apply the effect to specific areas of the image.
